About

Musician, Photographer, Radio Producer and Educator. Designing the sound of worlds known and unknown. Inspired by worlds found and worlds yet to be discovered.

Chris Kuborn has been involved with music and composing for most of his life. Starting with multiple cassette decks and portastudio recording to early Moog Modular and Synclavier Synths to modern digital synths and VSTs on the computer. His ever growing collection of percussion instruments and recording equipment is slowly taking over his home!

He has released three recordings to date of soundscape/ambient sounds from his record label 130dB. They are all available for purchase on BandCamp and available for streaming on all services.

Chris holds a MM from Ohio University in Music Composition and a BM in Music from University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. He has been playing percussion and steel drum around the world for over 25 years, including a performance at the 2015 Panorama Competition with “birdsong” – Andy Narell’s Trinidadian based 100+ member Steel Band. He has toured to Israel, Europe, South America, Canada and the US. He is currently on the Faculty of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in the Digital Media Technology Program where he focusses on Audio & Video Production and Music Production/Recording.
